How to destroy the Slug Community in your yard? Just pull the string and he explodes. Wonder why I always think of slugs as “he”…..
Month: August 2013
The Slugs were getting too comfy
Until last week the slugs were getting too comfortable in my yard. I don’t see so many of them any more, so maybe they are getting the idea that Diana’s Garden is NOT a safe haven.
Watch your slat intake…
Even more so than your normal human, slugs need to watch their slat intake. For us, high blood pressure, for RIP for the slug.
Think I need to re-salt the borders of my garden
Slug having a bad day….
for a slug, the choice is so simple: Beer or Salt. What a delicious way to go? We never wonder about slugs having feelings, but if they do I am in BIG trouble!
I am beginning to understand…
I am beginning to understand why they win. With technology, they must have baby computers in their world figuring out how we cannot get rid of them in our garden.
One was climbing my purple fence this morning, and I had to run back into the house to get my As Salt Rifle….
… As he drinks he leaves a part of himself behind …
In our imagination we just hand a tiny beer to our slug friends and watch them disintegrate. Be easier to rake up little beer cans, than slime.
Slug Wars
The slugs they are a growing in my yard. As of this morning there more than 225 -250 less in my yard due to my diligence.
But I am beginning to worry about my personality, if it is bringing such joy to be ridding my beautiful garden of these ugly little critters.
Maybe I should post a few photos of my garden, so you know I am not making this all up.
It might just be the creative side of my mind working with the more analytical side of my mind. Right versus Left.
Next year I am going to design covered beer swimming pools, so I don’t have to see the victims. What do you think?
Maybe this is the beginning of a new design career..
Happy Birthday to Me!!
And what do I dream about on the Morning of my 64th birthday?
All the slugs in my garden will magically go away into the great beyond (anywhere but my garden {and house}) and NOT come back.
That really is a DREAM!
Have a glorious day on my birthday!
And I wondered why
And I wondered why my beautiful plants were not making it.
The morning of my first slug patrol, I discovered eight good sized slugs on one plant. It’s neighbor had five and I wondered (?) why my garden was not doing so well.
Some 225 or so less slugs, I do have some lovely brown spots where they met their demise, but the rest of the plants are smiling.
Strolling in the Moonlight can be dangerous.
Over 200 slugs are now Slug Dust in my yard. The Slug Wars continue. The only downside is that where I used Salt, there is a major lacking of green. On the upside, it is the end of summer and it will grow back in the Fall.
Happy Slug Wars!!!!
