No great artist ever sees things as they really are. If he did, he would cease to be an artist.
Oscar Wilde
The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.
Pablo Picasso
As I said earlier, I was having a great day in the studio till the power went out. I call this Green with Envy since I incorporated Gold Leaf once again in the piece.
Yesterday before we lost electricity in the storm, I was working on this painting, and thought it seemed a little dull, so had fun adding some Gold Leaf and liked the effect so much, I may do a series using that in my paintings.
Working on this painting today and think I may still have some fun with it. Thinking about adding a little gold leaf to the bottom. It reminds me of Fall nights with a little storm and the landscape beginning to turn golden colors.
All these years (over 40) and I just realized I could start my day with a smile, rather than oh dang….
Wouldn’t it be lovely
There are days when I realize that if I looked at the world through the eyes of a child, it would be a much happier place for most of us. The wonder of finding something new, the joy of exploring and the thrill of sharing it with friends and family. Ah, to be three again!
Think about taking a magnifying glass to the beach, or better yet finding one there . The wonders of life at the beach magnified and enjoyed. What a treasure!
Love when my son sends photos of my grand daughter. It is so great to see that they are out and exploring. She is growing up with a love of nature.
Captured this by chance the other night. Sometimes I am awestruck by the beauty of nature and how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful part of the world.
When it comes to coffee, I am glad I am not a slug!
Now I almost have control of the situation. My ultimately best solution is just burying beer cans
