Our first “assignment” was to bring in photos of our local ferry.  Since I live right down from the Kingston Ferry, I just looked back to see what I had photographed in the last year.  Here are my offerings. I would love to know which one you like best.  This is more “Food for Thought” than food, although the Hot Dogs on the ferry are not bad!  f10f11f12f16f20f22f24f25ferry 1

The Birds were dancing in the sky.

Today as I worked in my kitchen, I looked up to see in the midnight blue sky of midday a swarm of white birds undulating and moving in a gorgeous rhythm in the sky.  They were so bright against the sea of blue sky and blue green water it was a magical moment.  I caught a tad of it with my camera, but not the dance.  It looked free and beautiful and made me smile at the thought of being so lucky to live with this wonder right out my kitchen window.

Finding pleasure in the small things of everyday life is important to all of us.

Everyday in my home I wake up to a variation of this view.  It took a long time in life to get to the place where I wake up and can’t wait to see the view of the morning.  I kept buying and selling and then building and selling to make a profit on each so I could move to somewhere with a better view. I am in the smallest home, other than my first in Del Mar, California and I love the view the best!

Many do not understand this obsession, but living in the Pacific Northwest we have this incredible opportunity to live our lives with amazing views or using a word I heard for the first time “Fablioso” views. If you don’t live where you love the view you wake up to, then perhaps it is time to think about moving?

That is where I came in to help you find just the right view.  As an artist and a professional (ASID & IIDA) interior designer (Yes I passed the two day test) and having worked to earn a PhD in Business Marketing, I can do a great job for you!

Trains and Things in Edmonds, Washington

Red TrainOn August 20th I have an art show at “Interiors of Edmonds”, so am trying to come up with more drawings that make you think of Edmonds.  I seem to always be waiting for the train to pass in front of the ferry in Edmonds, so a train seems appropriate.  Maybe I should do one of the Sounder for those that use it to commute.

Edmonds White house

This house is one of the oldest in Edmonds.  Seems so new after you travel overseas and see temples in China, ruins in Italy and quaint villages hundreds of year old.  Send ideas if you have any of anything else to draw representing Edmonds.

Poulsbo Clock in color

Living in the Pacific Northwest we are surrounded with not only beauty, like taking a ferry ride at sunrise or sunset, but we have the fun of a wide variety of cultures.  In Kitsap County we have Poulsbo, our local Norwegian Village with lots of fun shops and now lots of great restaurants.  My last post featured the “famous” Poulsbo Telephone booth and today I added one of the Washington ferries and the clock from downtown Poulsbo.  Tell me your favorite tourist spot in the PNW and I would be happy to draw it for you.
