Put a little love in your life on Valentines Day!

Put a little love in your life on Valentines Day!

My began with an email from my sweet husband (welcome to the tech world), followed by Yoga (I took Chocolate for my class), and then a nice run/walk on the beach with Rusty, my Bernese Mountain Dog. He thought that was pretty nice!

Off to my studio to do a little TRX and then paint. Dinner with husband tonight, so all in all a pretty nice Valentines Day.

Hope yours is even better!! Rusty at the Be

We love our dog?

We love our dog?

Rusty is a very busy puppy. Yesterday in one short afternoon, he almost chewed through our lattice (1″ x 2″) fence, ate the corner off a custom cat litter house, took a designer pillow outside and drug through the mud, grabbed another off the sofa, but it was rescued, took all the paper out of the burn pile and spread it throughout the yard, dug 3-5 new holes, ate two of his new tennis balls, and smiled gleefully as I picked up and cleaned up all the messes. And I still love this dog….

???????????????????????????????????????????????

Loved my cats… But

Loved my cats... But

So nice to wake up to:

No cat licking my face at 3 am
No cat throw-up
No cat hair all over my bed
No anonymous cat hair in kitchen sink
Ability to leave closet door open
And bathroom door open
No stinky poop smell in laundry room
No diarrhea on window ledges or book cases
No more scratches on grand piano
No gross litter box to have to clean
No loud meowing at 6am or 11pm
No cat between me & my computer screen
No cat pulling pushpins off my bulletin board
No cat eating my family photos
No cat breaking my miniature Airstreams just for the joy of it
Ability to let dog out and leave the door open
No cat laying on my paperwork

Did I miss anything??

Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary

Happy Third Wedding Anniversary.

My husband is in Portugal and I am home with the Kingsley Menagerie.

Rusty, our Bernese Mountain Puppy at 12 weeks discovered he could punch the Bullshit Button on our “glass” Noguchi coffee table first thing this morning, as I grabbed that, he ran off, jumped over the barrier and ate all the toilet paper off the roll in the guest room. During my attempt to clean that up, he pooped in the living room while I plugged and unplugged the toilet with his toilet paper.

Cayanne , the orange Siberian Forest cat was busy in my office destroying the shade AND my Airstream collection while I was doing puppy duty. After I shooed her out of my office (actually a little more than gently) she meowed, climbed up on the kitchen counter, took two dog bone treats out of the bowl and carried them throughout the house.

Next duty was the outdoor letterbox. (Need I say more?)

Maybe not the most romantic Wedding Anniversary so far…..

Hope you all are having a wonderful Thursday!

Dog Run

Dog Run

When I finished this 24 x 36 painting I realized it looked like a funny dog running in the rain. Nice to be back in my studio painting.

People always tell me that they see something in my paintings. It is generally unintentional, but since we are getting a puppy in a couple of weeks, maybe dogs are subconsciously on my mind.  Yes, that is Gold Leaf in the painting.

It was interesting having family for visits. Loved having my grand daughter Claire here for a week and hope she can come back soon.

Why bark when you can wag?

Why bark when you can wag?

Years ago I did a series of Dog Paintings for a friend of mine that was opening a Pet Store. I never did anything with these pieces, and found them on the computer the other day.

We all bark too much about things that really do not matter, when we could be so happy with what we have. Do we really want more or just different? How many people are happy with everything they have? Why do we always want more? Just a thought for the day.

Quit complaining and enjoy the moment.
