Do you see the horse?

Do you see the horse?Started this before the power went out the other day and the colors were just singing to me. When I finished I looked at the photo and saw a horse head. If you have a better name please share with me.

Not sure if you can tell by the photo, but I used Gold Leaf on this one too. Gold Leaf is interesting to use, as it sort of has a mind of it’s own and no matter how exacting you want to apply it, it moves and takes on a life of its own.

Today I woke up and had an idea. I have been working on this abstract and loved the colors, but thought it lacked something. Today I took an Oil Crayon and drew the nude on top of the abstract, then added skin tone to set it apart from the abstract. I feel it fit right in and it was so much fun to try something new.

What do you think??

It is starting to leave summer and turn into fall. You can feel it in the air. For me that means I feel less guilty about spending less time in my garden and more in my studio.

Isaac Asimov wrote:  “Writing, to me, is simply thinking through my fingers.”

To me painting is letting my fingers bring the thoughts from my mind to the canvas.
